About Me
Mitchell Epstein is an actor/singer/dancer/director/arts coach/acting coach and a graduate of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music with a B.F.A. in Musical Theater. He received additional training at Broadway Artists Alliance and The Powerhouse Theater Training Program.
In addition to performing, Mitchell discovered his passion for directing when he founded his own not-for-profit musical theater program for teens and young adults in New Jersey, through which he produced, directed, and musical directed two cabarets to raise money for designated charitable organizations. For his efforts, he was nominated for a Diller Foundation Award "for exceptional leadership and engagement in initiatives making the world a better place.” He also fell in love with teaching and began his career in teaching classes in acting and viewpoints at Denville Music Academy and Soul Search Records for students ages 10 to 18.
Mitchell recently directed and musical directed a devised piece, Through Our Eyes, which included the art from several young performers from around the country coming together online through Mitchell's "Becoming the Artist" class. The performance was YouTube live streamed, receiving over 700 views and praise by many.
Mitchell was selected as the baritone Boston Conservatory vocalist for the Homes for Vets Benefit Gala and The Mission Gratitude: Home Base Benefit Concert, through which he performed with Kristin Chenoweth. He's performed in many devised pieces, including This Is What It's Like: A Soundpainting Performance with Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College's Art Gallery, Post Secret Cabaret 2017 at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and Girl and Boy Land with Earth Stone at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Favorite performance roles include Benjamin Braddock in The Graduate, Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher, Arviragus in Cymbeline, and Jason in Bare: A Pop Opera (Perry Award Nominee). Mitchell currently resides in Northern New Jersey, where he is teaching acting, musical theater, and the arts and directing through his private coaching business and studios, such as “The Kaitlin Dalakian Vocal Studio.” One of his personal goals is to become more of a well-informed and connected artist every day. What Mitchell loves most about the arts are the opportunities they give us to be vulnerable, connect with people in authentic ways, and have a positive impact on people’s lives and our communities.
